Compare the gaming performance of Windows 11 and Windows 10: The difference is not big

Perhaps Microsoft still has a lot to adjust to be able to provide better gaming performance for Windows 11.

During the launch of Windows 11 in June, Microsoft bragged a lot about the gaming performance of this operating system. Therefore, when Windows 11 was officially launched, many users, especially gamers, questioned whether Windows 11 has better gaming performance than Windows 10?

To answer this question, a YouTube channel called Testing Games posted a detailed comparison video of gaming performance between Windows 11 and Windows 10. The results obtained may disappoint many people.

The test was conducted on a computer with the following configuration:

  1. CPU Core i5 10600K
  2. GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GPU
  3. 32GB RAM

This computer will have both Windows 10 and Windows 11 installed and run the same games to measure performance. The games tested are all AAA games that require high configuration such as Forza Horizon 4, Call of Duty: Warzone, Days Gone, CYBERPUNK 2077.

The test results show that the gaming performance of Windows 11 is not significantly different from Windows 10 on most games. Users will certainly hardly feel when the difference is only 2 to 5%. Please see the table below to compare gaming performance between Windows 11 and Windows 10 more easily, the unit of data in the table is fps (frames per second, the higher the better):

Category Days Gone Forza Horizon 4 Call of Duty: Warzone CYBERPUNK 2077
Windows 11 186 187 138 91
Windows 10 184 186 133 92

It can be seen that Windows 11 has not shown its superiority in gaming compared to Windows 10. Even, there are still games that Windows 10 handles better than Windows 11.

However, we cannot come to a final conclusion at this point. The reason is because Windows 11 has just been released, so it has not been fully optimized with software, drivers and hardware. Let's give Microsoft some time to adjust to see if everything is fixed.
