How to use the Animated Zoom tool in Photoshop

Use the Animated Zoom tool when you want to zoom into a position that is precisely defined in the image quickly.

1. Select the Zoom tool .

2. Click and hold the mouse at the point you want to zoom in on the image. The image will continue to zoom as long as you still hold the mouse button. Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) to zoom out.

3. In the options bar, select Zoom Scrubby. Then drag left to zoom out or right to zoom in.

If this tool doesn't work in your case, go to Photoshop> Preferences> Tools and check if Animated Zoom is enabled.

How to perform a temporary zoom in Photoshop

Users can move around a large image with the help of a temporary tool. The temporary zoom function helps users to switch from any other tool to a specific part of the image.

1. Hold H. Click on the image and hold down the mouse button. The current tool changes to Hand tool .

2. If the whole image is not visible, the image will shrink. Drag the rectangular zoom area to another part of the image and it will automatically zoom in.

3. Release the mouse button and then release the H key. The image will return to its original form.

How to zoom in with the Navigator control panel

Red box is a handy way to quickly go to different parts of the image. Photoshop calls it Proxy View Area.

1. Go to Window> Navigator to display the Navigator control panel .

2. To move around an image, drag the red box in the image thumbnail. Also, click on the thumbnail of the image to place the viewable area.

3. Zoom slider also helps to change the magnification of the image quickly.
