3 Ways to Block Exporting Your WhatsApp Messages

In a recent update, WhatsApp added an enhanced message security feature that allows you to prevent others from exporting your WhatsApp chats, including group chats. You can also take advantage of some other security features to block the export of your WhatsApp messages, following the instructions below.

Enable WhatsApp message export blocking

WhatsApp's enhanced private chat mode prevents chat export for individual or group chats you participate in. It also blocks automatic media downloads and prevents media from being automatically saved to your device's storage.

Click on the conversation you want to enable advanced privacy mode, then click on the other person's name above . Next, click on Advanced chat privacy and click On to activate.

Using Disappearing Messages on WhatsApp

Enhanced private chats only prevent chat export, not screenshots, manual copying, or forwarding of your messages to others. So you can use disappearing messages on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp also notifies you when someone tries to screenshot these disappearing messages and also prevents screenshots from being taken altogether, and automatically deletes some messages after a time you set, including media shared in the chat.

Use single photo view mode on WhatsApp

WhatsApp's One-Time View feature helps you control who can see your media and how. It allows media like photos or videos to be viewed only once and then disappear. It also prevents recipients from saving it to their device, forwarding it, or even viewing it again.
