Revealing the list of devices that will not be 'upgraded' to iOS 16
Leaked information from inside Apple said that there are some iPhone and iPad devices that will not be updated to iOS 16.
Some iPhone and iPad models will not be updated to iOS 16 when it is released in 2022. Among these are devices that are 8 years old and some devices are 5 years old.
Apple always tries to upgrade the operating system for its devices for as many years as possible. In 2021, iOS 15 will still support all devices that iOS 14 used to support. However, iOS 16 may stop updating for A8 and A9/A9X devices.
3 iPhone models are not updated
Citing a source from a friend who is an Apple developer, iPhoneSoft page said that in 2022 iPhone 6s (2015), iPhone 6s Plus (2015) and iPhone SE (2016) will not be upgraded to iOS 16.
This is not very emotional information because most users are no longer using the above iPhone models. Moreover, if still using, most will not upgrade to the latest iOS to avoid problems.
The iPod touch 7 (2019) is rumored to still receive the iOS 16 update.
4 iPad models are not "upgraded" to iOS 16
According to iPhoneSoft, some older iPad models will have to stop with iOS 15. These include iPad Air 2 (2014), iPad mini 4 (2015), iPad Pro 9.7 (2015), iPad Pro 12.9 inch ( 2015) and iPad 5 (2017).
According to the annual schedule, Apple will introduce iOS 16 in June 2022. Then the betas will be rolled out to developers and then to regular users.
The official version of iOS 16 will be released in September, which coincides with the launch of the new iPhone.
