OneDrive is the most used cloud storage service in the enterprise

Spiceworks survey of 544 businesses in North America and Europe shows that the majority of businesses using OneDrive make cloud storage solutions.

Spiceworks survey of 544 businesses in North America and Europe shows that the majority of businesses using OneDrive are cloud storage solutions, followed by familiar rivals like Dropbox and Google Drive.

80% of businesses use cloud storage (16% plan to use it in the next 2 years) and of which 51% use OneDrive, 34% use Dropbox and Google Drive. Other options stand quite far behind: Apple iCloud (1.3%), Citrix ShareFile (6%) and Amazon Drive (3%).

The most recent survey of Spicework in this area was in March 2016, when there was only 31% using OneDrive, while 33% used DropBox and 27% used Google Drive. The future will probably have more when 10% of businesses plan to use OneDrive from 1 to 2 years, this number of Google Drive and Dropbox is 2% and 3%.

Also according to this survey, major large companies use OneDrive while Google Drive is the choice of many small companies. Microsoft is also somewhat advantageous when the OneDrive 1TB package already has Office 365, which helps businesses save costs compared to using a private cloud storage service.

Microsoft is also said to be safer when 39% of technology businesses using OneDrive say that thinking about OneDrive is thinking of higher security, while with Google Drive and Dropbox respectively 28% and 19%.
