Printing for an office worker is a routine job everyone must know. However, you know how to print to save time and money?
1. Print on both sides in Word
B1 : After finishing the Word alignment, open the Print dialog box by clicking File -> Print, or press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P.
* Some indicators you should know in the print dialog
+ Name : This is the hostname that you will use.The machine will default to the printer you selected for printing in previous articles.If you want to choose another printer, you just need to select another printer name after clicking the right arrow button.
+ Page range : The printed text area.
- All: prints all current text.This is the default of Office.
- Current Page: only prints the current page, the page on which the mouse is pointing.
- Sellection: only print the highlighted text.This option will appear when you highlight a piece of text.
- Page: Print the page with the page numbers entered in the box.You can enter multiple pages, separated by commas (,).You can choose to print consecutive pages by using dashes (-).
Ex: You want to print page 3, page 7, page 9 to page 20. You enter: '3,7,9-20'
+ Number of copies : Number of copies you want to print.If you want to print a copy, enter 1.
+ Collate : choose how to arrange when printing multiple copies.You can follow the image preview right at the dialog interface.(Usually, click Collate).
+ Print : print options, including:
- All page in rangre: print all the pages printed in the area you selected above at Page range.
- Odd pages: Print only odd pages in a selection
- Even pages: Print only even pages in the selection
+ Page per sheet : optional number of pages of text printed per page.
+ Scale to paper size : to default to No Scaling if you have adjusted the paper size before printing.If not, you can choose the paper size according to the size you are printing.
B2 : - In Page range , in Pages , select the pages you want to print.
For example, you want to print from page 1 to page 51, you enter 1-51
- At Print , click Odd Page to print odd pages first.
B3 : After the odd pages finish printing, we keep the position of the paper just printed, put the paper in to continue to print even pages on the back of the paper. Note : in the case of odd pages, the last sheet is removed before the even page prints.
- In Pages in Page range , you select the number of pages in order from big to small.
- At Print , click Even Page to print even pages.
For example, here the number of pages to print is 51 (odd numbers), you leave the last sheet apart.You enter 51-1 in the Pages box, and select Even pages to print even pages.
- Click OK to print, and enjoy the result!
Note , if the document has many pages, when turning the side to print even or odd paper, you should print a few pages in advance to ensure two-dimensional convenience, to avoid printing damage or reverse paper.
2. Print on both sides in Excel
Duplex printing in excel is an indispensable need of the office people.However, unlike Word, Excel does not have parity page printing function.So, I will show you some ways to be able to print on both sides in Excel.
Method 1: Print with Word interface
- You just need to copy all the data to print from Word file to Excel
- Select Paste Special mode, select Values and click OK.
- Then you align the table to print in Word as usual
- Finally, we perform the 2-sided printing operation on Word as guided above.
Method 2: Print 2 sides in excel with Add-ins
B1 : You download the Add-ins 'Duplex Print' link by following the link below.This utility can help Excel files print on both sides easily with odd and even page printing mode.

B2 : After downloading, you proceed to extract and save at any location in the computer.
B3 : Open the Excel file you want to print
- Go to File , select Options , then Add-Ins.
- Click Go at Manage Excel Add-Ins to bring up the Add-Ins management window.
- Select Browse to the 2-sided Add-ins file folder above, select Open .
- On the window appears a new Add-ins with the name: In2mat , select and then click OK.
- Turn off all currently enabled Excel files, and reopen the Excel file to print.
- From now on, just press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + P , the following dialog box will appear.You only need to enter 'chan' to print even pages, enter 'le' to print odd pages.The operation of printing is similar to 2-sided printing with Word as instructed above.
