3 What is ATM?
For those who love and collect watches, this concept must not be very strange to them. ATM is a unit for measuring clock pressure. Besides this ATM measurement unit, we also have a 'BAR' measurement unit of a British pressure measurement unit. 1 ATM = 1 BAR and this unit is meant to withstand the water depth of about 10 meters and still work well in water environment.
If your watch or dial doesn't have any signs of water-resistant parameters (don't write "water resitance" or 30m, 50m, 100m .) be careful. Your watch doesn't like water and hate water!
If we observe that on the back of the watch there are words Water Resitance or symbols like 3ATM, 5ATM, 10ATM, which means:
Case 1 : 30M, 3ATM, 3BAR (or just write on the watch is Water Resistance) - Our watches are only water resistant at hand washing, normal rain.
Case 2 : 50M, 5ATM, 5 BAR: Our watches are used in swimming, diving and water and note that they cannot be used in diving, strong sports in the water .
Case 3 : 100M, 10 ATM, 10BAR: Our watches are used in swimming, diving in the water, diving and can not be used when playing strong sports underwater.
Case 4 : 200M, 20ATM, 20 BAR: Our watches can be used in swimming, diving in the water, diving, used when playing strong sports underwater . but not used to scuba diving like a professional.
Case 5 : DIVER'S WATCH 200M Then the watch is used in all cases. Only available in professional dive watches, special types and helium exhaust valves.
Case 6 : From 200M, 20ATM, 20 BAR or above - Only available in watches for deep sea diving and jobs related to high pressure levels.
Hopefully the above information will help you better understand the waterproof index of the watches.
