To set the printer parameters, you must first set the printers that are installed in Windows and existing printers. Each printer has its own parameters, you must base on the manual of each printer to set up. If it is a default printer, you do not need to set it up each time before printing.
* Set the printer parameters as follows:
Step 1 : Open the printer manager from Control Panel or Start - Devices an printers or search "Printer" -> Right-click on an existing printer and then click the properties button dialog box containing printer parameters on the screen as follows.
Explain the labels in the dialog box:
- Page Setup label: In this label allows us to select the paper size containing the content printed in Page Size (usually choose A4) and paper size to print in Output Size (often choose Match Page Size), choose to print multiple copies in Copies , select the landscape or landscape paper type (Potrait) in the Orientation, select the size of the printed content in Manual Scaling (usually 100%) if you want the custom paper size, click the Custom Paper Size button and Choose other functions.
- Finishing label: Allows you to select the print mode according to the original printing mode, then print the copy or print the original and the alternating copy in the Collate function.
Step 2 : Select the functions and then click Apply to change and save the newly changed results.
Step 3: Click OK to close the dialog box, click Cancel to cancel without changing the previous result and close the dialog box.
* Note : To keep these parameters unchanged after each print, follow these steps:
- From the Start / printer and faxes or devices and printers button
- The Printer and faxes screen appears, select and right-click the printer and select properties.
- At this time, a dialog box containing the parameters of the printer is displayed, change the necessary parameters in this dialog box and click Apply to save the changes.
From now on, every time you print, you do not need to change the parameters anymore because the parameters have been set by default.
To number a page starting with a number other than 1 as the default, do the following:
- Go to Menu Insert / Header and Footer
Click the Custom header or Custom Footer button then click the icon to insert the page number into the Header or Footer, followed by adding any number you want to start typing from that plus 1.
For example : Suppose we have the content & [Page] +9 means that you want to start the page from page 10.
Click OK to finish, click OK one more time to exit the Pages setup window.
Excel does not edit as easily as Word does alignment. To draw horizontal lines in the Header and footer of an Excel page, you can use one of the following methods:
Method 1: Use a font containing a special character, this character is a dash, and then compose the header or footer with a series of these hyphen characters.Solid dash lines are made of consecutive dashed characters. However, there are very few styles of hyphenated characters that meet your needs, you need to use a font editor (like the FontoGrapher) to draw the character yourself and then use it for your own purposes.
Method 2: Use the underlined mode for the header or footer. You only need to enter the space string (space) large enough, then set the underline mode (Underline) for this empty string string, there will be a continuous dash. The length of the dash depends on the number of empty characters you have created.
