How to Use Instagram

Instagram is a photo-sharing social networking application released in 2010 and currently available in 25 languages. This app helps you keep up to date with your friends' life events easily. This article shows you how to download and install Instagram. In addition, you are also instructed to perform some basic operations on the Instagram interface along with how to take and post photos.

Install Instagram

Download the Instagram app. You can do this by searching for "Instagram" in your device's app store (such as the App Store on iOS or Google Play Store on Android) and selecting the appropriate search result to download the app.

Open the Instagram app. Tap the Instagram icon (looks like a multicolored camera) on one of your device's home screens.

Create an account by tapping Sign up at the bottom of the screen. Here, you need to enter your email address, the username you want to create, password, and phone number (this is optional, but recommended). You can also post a profile picture before continuing.

Besides, you can add some personal information in the 'About' section, including your full name or personal website.

If you already have an Instagram account, you can tap Sign In below the Instagram login page and enter your account login information.

Choose friends to follow. After completing account creation, you have the option to find friends from your contacts, Facebook account, Twitter account or by manual search. Note, you need to provide Facebook or Twitter account information to Instagram (including email address and password) to be able to select friends from these platforms.

You can choose to follow users suggested by Instagram by tapping the 'Follow' button next to their name.

Following someone allows you to see their posts on your "Home" page.

You can still connect with friends at any time, even after creating an account.

Select Done when you're ready to continue. This takes you to your Instagram account's Home page; Here, you'll see posts from people you've chosen to follow.

Use tags on Instagram

See the Home tab. This is the default tab displayed when you start, also known as the feed, showing all new posts from people you follow. Here, you can do the following:

Tap the + icon in the top left corner of the screen to create and share a Story with your followers. You need to allow Instagram to access your microphone and camera to do this.

Tap the triangle icon in the top right corner of the screen to view Inbox. All of your messages will appear here.

View the "Search" page by tapping the magnifying glass icon. This is the icon to the right of the Home tab displayed at the bottom of the screen. Here, you can search for accounts and keywords by entering information in the search bar at the top of the screen.

Stories of famous people on Instagram also appear on this page, right below the search bar.

See your activity by tapping the heart icon. This is the second icon to the right of the magnifying glass icon. All app notifications will appear here (such as photo likes and comments, follow requests, etc.).

View your profile by tapping your account icon. This is the humanoid icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Here, you can do the following:

Tap the + icon in the top left corner of the screen to add friends from Facebook and your contacts.

Tap the three horizontal bars (☰) icon in the upper right corner and select the gear icon or ⋮ at the bottom of the screen to see Instagram options. You can customize your account settings and add friends or social media accounts here.

Tap Edit Profile to the right of your profile picture to change your display name or username, add a profile and/or website, and change personal information (such as phone number). and email address).

Return to the Home tab by touching the house icon. This icon appears in the lower left corner of the screen. If the person you're following posted a new post after you last visited this page, that content will automatically appear here.

Add photos to Instagram

Click the + button to post a photo. This is the button displayed in the bottom center of the page. Here, you can add existing photos from your camera roll or take new photos.

See camera options. You'll see three posting options displayed at the bottom of this page:

Library - This option allows you to post photos that are already in the library.

Photo - You can take photos using Instagram's built-in camera. You need to allow Instagram to access your camera before taking a photo.

Video - You can record videos with Instagram's camera. First, you need to give Instagram permission to access your device's microphone.

Choose or take a photo. If you want to take a photo or record a video, tap the round button below the screen.

If you want to use an existing image, you need to tap the Next button in the top right corner of the screen to continue.

Choose a filter for the photo. You'll do this with the options at the bottom of the screen. Currently, on average each Instagram account has 11 filters available. The purpose of this is to make the photo more vivid. You can also download additional Instagram filters. Filters change the color and texture of your photo - for example, using the "Moon" filter makes your photo look faded black and white.

You can also tap Edit in the lower right corner of the screen to adjust other photo elements such as Brightness, Contrast, and Structure.

Tap Next . This is the option in the top right corner of the screen.

Add captions to photos. You'll enter your text in the "Write a caption" box at the top of the screen.

You can also tag photos right here, if you want.

See other options for photos. Before sharing a photo, you can do the following:

Tap Tag People to tag followers in the photo.

Tap Add Location to add your current location to the photo's description. You need to allow Instagram to access your device's location services to do this.

Post photos to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or Flickr by pushing the slider next to each account to the "On" position. You need to link your Instagram account to the above social network account to be able to share content.

Tap Share . It's in the top right corner of the screen. So you've successfully posted your first Instagram photo!
