How to know if your AirPods are charging?

Have you placed both left and right sides of your AirPods in the charging case, but wondering if the headphones are actually charging?

Let's find out right below.

Check through the charging box

The first and simplest way is to check through the charging box to see if your AirPods are getting power or not.

On the AirPods charging case, you will see a small status indicator light. This light will change color depending on different situations (states) of the headset in real time.

When the headphones are placed in the charging case:

  1. The amber light indicates that the headset is charging, but the battery of the charging box itself is still in a charged state, not fully charged.
  2. The green light indicates your AirPods are fully charged.

When the headphones are not in the charging case:

  1. The amber light indicates that the charging case does not have enough battery left to fully charge the headphones.
  2. The green light indicates that the charging box is fully charged.

With just a simple step of checking the status light of the charging box, you will quickly know whether the headset inside is receiving power or not.

Test on iPhone or iPad

Additionally, you can also check the charging status of your AirPods in a more thorough and detailed way on your iPhone or iPad.

To do that, first place both AirPods in their charging case. Then, bring the headphones close to your iPhone or iPad and pair.

On your iPhone or iPad screen, you will see the current battery level of your AirPods. Besides, if the headset is actually charging, you will see a flashing light icon.

If you have plugged in the charging case, then next to the case's battery level, you will also see a flashing light icon.

It's all that simple. Wish you always have a good experience
