The FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens is designed with 11 aperture blades assembled into a nearly perfect circle - a level of quality rarely seen in a mobile lens. Aberrations are controlled from design to production, all with the aim of creating a beautiful bokeh effect that makes subjects stand out.

Two groundbreaking XA lenses enable sharp close-ups with extremely smooth background bokeh. Two Sony's XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motor motors provide optimal thrust for autofocus accuracy as well as continuous subject-to-focus results for impressive resolution results at any distance. The most advanced algorithm, exclusively developed for XD Linear Motor motors, improves response speed and accuracy while suppressing vibration and noise reduction for fast, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance. Focusing is effective even when shooting at high speeds.

Linear Response MF is ideal for creative focus effects when recording video, and the focus ring responds accurately when focusing manually. The focus ring's rotating mechanism is directly converted to focusing, providing a sense of user-sensitive and precise control.

The FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens is equipped with a focus hold button for professional control, a mode switch to facilitate smooth and efficient operation. The physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for optimal smooth aperture switching when recording video.

When combined with an APS-C sensor body or Super 35mm viewing angle, the FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens becomes the perfect choice for video recording thanks to a common 52.5mm equivalent conversion focal length. The focus hold button can be assigned a number of other functions via the camera body menu, thereby giving users quick access to essential functions.
