Copilot can now create PowerPoint slides from documents - here's how

Microsoft has just announced a long-awaited new feature for the Copilot suite built into PowerPoint for Windows, the ability to quickly create PowerPoint slides using suggested documents and commands. This feature can save you a lot of time when creating presentations.

Note: This feature is only available to PowerPoint on Windows users who have a Copilot license and are running Version 2502 (Build 18526.20144). Additionally, the feature is currently only supported in English (US). Support for additional languages ​​will be released soon.

How to Create PowerPoint Slides from Documents with Copilot

1. Open PowerPoint and prepare your document

1. Launch PowerPoint on Windows > Open an existing presentation or create a new one.
   

   

2. Click the Copilot button above the slide (or go to the Home tab > New Slide with Copilot ).
   

   

2. Enter command or upload reference

1. In the Copilot dialog box, enter a description of the slide content (for example, " Create a Q1 earnings report summary slide ").
2. To reference a file, click Reference a file > Select a document from your computer (Word, PDF…).
   

Tip: If the document is long, specify a specific section (for example, "Use data from pages 5-7 in the report").

3. Refine and perfect

1. Click Send (right arrow) to have Copilot create a draft slide.
2. Edit directly, ask Copilot to rewrite the content (" Make it shorter "), or create a new slide with a different suggestion.

Important Note

1. Currently, Copilot does not support detailed formatting requests such as fonts, colors, backgrounds, or inserting custom images.
2. To optimize, be clear and focus on 1-2 main topics in each command.
