ChatGPT can now link with Outlook, Teams, Gmail, Google Drive, and other services

In addition to the consumer market, ChatGPT is growing strongly in the enterprise segment. According to the latest announcement, OpenAI now has 3 million paying enterprise users (Enterprise, Team, Edu packages), a sharp increase compared to 2 million in February.

 

During an online event aimed at business users, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT can now connect to multiple external services to retrieve real-time context and provide more useful responses.

New connections in Deep Research feature (for Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, Edu users):

  1. Microsoft Outlook
  2. Microsoft Teams
  3. Microsoft SharePoint
  4. Dropbox
  5. Box
  6. Google Drive
  7. Gmail
  8. Liner

Additionally, enterprise IT administrators can build custom connectors using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This allows enterprises to integrate data from internal systems and proprietary applications into ChatGPT, in parallel with other

 

The ChatGPT Team also announced a "record mode" feature for ChatGPT Team users on macOS, allowing:

  1. Meeting recording
  2. Create automatic transcripts
  3. Content Summary
  4. List post-meeting actions
    (Feature coming soon to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, Edu users)

Speaking about the new change, OpenAI Product Manager Kevin Weil said:

These features are rolling out first to B2B customers, then to everyone as soon as possible. The Deep Research Connector starts rolling out to Plus/Pro users today, with MCP support coming to Pro.

While the new features mark a significant step forward, ChatGPT still faces a major challenge in the enterprise market against Microsoft 365 Copilot - a competitor that has the advantage of deep integration within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
