YouTube will remove accounts that are not 'commercially viable' since December 10
YouTube will delete your account if they don't make money from it.
Since last week, YouTube has started sending notifications to users about an update to the platform's new terms of service, which will be effective from December 10.
It contained a statement stating that the company may delete your account if it is determined to be "no longer commercially viable", confusing many YouTubers.
Specifically, YouTube wrote that: 'If YouTube finds that providing services to users is no longer commercially viable, the company may suspend and terminate user access or account access. Google account on part or all of its services.
Put simply, YouTube will delete your account if they don't make money from it.
This YouTube extension term worries many users and content creators. Because if a user uploads or streams a video and its content cannot bring in YouTube's desired advertising revenue, the company will delete their account.
This includes anyone with an account, so YouTube viewers are affected, not just content creators.
On the positive side, with its new capabilities YouTube can remove users and channels with violent, provocative content. Unfortunately, YouTube does not explicitly state in its terms, so we cannot know for sure whether the company wants to do this or not.
Another important point in the new YouTube terms is that they can also terminate a user's Google account. That means that if a YouTuber with a YouTube account is no longer commercialized on the platform, they may also lose their Gmail, Google Photos, and documents.
Currently, YouTube has not yet provided any feedback on this issue.
