Windows Store will merge.

Microsoft is planning to combine Windows and Windows Phone application stores into a single system. The head of the company's operating system, Mr. Terry Myerson, confirmed the conversion in an internal meeting yesterday, according to The Verge. The combined time may be right at the next version of both operating systems, with Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1.

However, Microsoft representatives do not disclose how the new Windows Store will work to fit both types of applications. Previously, Myerson had confirmed the future of Windows RT in small phones and tablets.

Experts predict, Windows Store can operate in the same way as Apple's App Store. Meanwhile, apps for tablets may not run on the phone, but the phone app might do the opposite.

Currently Windows Phone and Windows RT run on ARM processor chip platform, so the ability to operate the same software is not too difficult. However, with Windows operating systems running Intel or ARM processors, building with developers is not easy.

Microsoft has long promised a common application platform between the two operating systems and this could be an important step for the company to fulfill that promise.
