"Windows 95 is the biggest thing we have done in the last 20 years. However, I think Windows 8 will surely surpass it," said Steve Ballmer in an interview with The Seattle Times. Microsoft's chief executive confidently said that he had no idea other than success that would come with the new operating system coming out on October 26.
Steve Ballmer also predicts that nearly 400 million computers will be shipped worldwide next year. And this big market will be strongly promoted by Windows 8 agents.
Microsoft bet on Windows 8 and the Surface tablet.
The head of Microsoft is not necessarily irrational when Windows 8 is being warmly welcomed. The first is good feedback on trial versions for free download before. Manufacturers also showed their enthusiasm for launching a range of laptops, tablets or "hybrid" computers running the new operating system. Windows 8 supports both touch sensor while keeping the inherent strengths that many users expect.
However, there are also some ideas that launching Surface running Windows 8 can be considered a risky step of Microsoft. From a company that specializes in software production and hardware production, if it only stops at a gaming or peripheral device, launching its own tablet can make the relationship between Microsoft and its partners. The effects may get worse.
