Microsofft also confirmed that "almost complete" Windows 7 will be introduced on April 30 for MSDN and TechNet developers and users can generally download it from May 5. This information coincides with last week's rumors about the release date of Windows 7 Release Candidate.

Currently, on some content sharing services, users are transmitting Build 7100 code, supposedly the RC version of Windows 7 that Microsoft provides to partners and a group of testers soon. In Build 7100, there is a new feature that allows users to register for a Windows Live account to access their PC's music store and videos via the Internet from any computer.

RC was the last milestone before Microsoft announced the new operating system. They still have a roadmap to release version 7 in January 2010, but the early introduction of Release Candidate has led analysts to hope that the operating system will be available on computers sold in this year's biggest shopping season.
