ASCII encoding and Latin character table ISO 1252
Below is the character table used in the standard ASCII encoding and the Latin 125 IOS character table. "Dec" decimal column is used to determine the number for ApplyTilde and ProcessTilde functions in Barcode Fonts, Components and Label Printing Software.
ASCII characters from 0 to 31 are often called function characters because they perform functions instead of a print character. Typically, these characters are not displayed unless using an application such as Barcode Scanner ASCII String Decoder of DAutomation. The usual function codes are 9 that create tabs and 13 perform return functions. The ^ sign in the Char column indicates the control key. For example, press CTRL-G to send ASCII 7 to the PC and make a bell.
ASCII characters from 32 to 128 are common in most languages and character sets, while ASCII characters from 127 and above are different for most character sets. In the US, the Windows system uses Latin-1 characters by default while Macintosh uses the Roman character set.
