What is UV rays? Which UV level is safe for humans?

Ultraviolet (UV) rays, or ultraviolet or necrotic rays, are electromagnetic waves with longer wavelengths than X-rays but shorter than visible light.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays, or ultraviolet or necrotic rays, are electromagnetic waves with longer wavelengths than X-rays but shorter than visible light. UV rays are often abundant in sunlight and humans cannot see with the naked eye.

In moderate doses UV rays bring benefits to humans such as helping skin synthesize vitamin D, kill bacteria, stimulate the main activity of the body.

However, UV rays also contain many harmful agents to the skin and human health.

UV indicators and health effects:

UV index below 2: This indicator shows that the amount of solar radiation is low, causing little harm to people. However, it can still cause skin burns if exposed to sunlight for 60 minutes or more without skin protection. This index is usually in the early morning or cloudy cool days.

UV index from 3-5: The amount of UV radiation is moderate, the risk of skin damage is low. However, if exposed to sunlight for 40 minutes or more without protective clothing, the skin may still burn.

UV index from 6-7: The amount of solar radiation is quite high, capable of causing skin burns after 30 minutes if exposed to sunlight without protecting skin. Frame time from 10am to 16h is the time of the strongest UV intensity of the day, you should limit your leave. If you have to go outside, you should be equipped with sun protection, sunglasses and poor sun protection.

UV index 8-10: Very high UV rays, if exposed to sunlight more than 25 minutes without skin protection. Eyes will suffer from visual disturbances (decreased visual acuity, watery eyes, fear of light .) if exposed to continuous sun exposure for 6 hours or more without wearing sunglasses.

UV index> 10: Extremely high UV rays, able to burn skin if exposed to sunlight more than 10 minutes without skin protection. It's best to stay at home, avoid the road.
