What happens when Apple executes iTunes?

At WWDC 2019, Apple announced that the iTunes application would be killed after 18 years when macOS Catalina was released, users would use Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV instead.

So, after iTunes is killed, what happens to the content stored on it like movie libraries, music .

Apple has come up with a solution for iTunes users to be assured.

Apple Music

Music apps on the Mac have been redesigned by Apple to become music stores, replacing iTunes. This application will contain your entire music library, including downloaded songs, songs copied from CDs, purchased songs. Apple continues to offer iTunes Music Store so users can still buy music if they want.

Apple TV application

Apple will release Apple TV apps on all of its devices this fall, including iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Apple has transferred more than 100,000 iTunes programs and movies to Apple TV apps. In addition, the Apple TV app also contains Apple TV Plus streaming service and favorite Apple TV channels. So users see everything via the Apple TV app.

Currently, Apple has not made it clear whether they have previously transferred movies and purchase programs to iTunes to the Apple TV app. However, this is entirely possible because they did the same thing with music.

Apple Podcasts

When iTunes is killed, Apple will add a standalone Podcasts application on the Mac, similar to Podcasts on iPhone. This standalone Podcasts application provides more than 700,000 programs, and has other interesting features such as notifications when new episodes of your favorite shows are available.

macOS Catalina

Normally, iTunes will automatically open when you plug iPhone into Mac. However, in macOS Catalina, your device will appear in the Finder's sidebar. To sync phones and computers, users can still use cables but each content of music, movies and podscast is via different applications.
