The iPhone runs iOS is normal, this iPhone X runs both Windows 10 complete

Perhaps this is something you never thought to see: Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system is running on an iPhone X.

It was impossible, but it was easy thanks to an application called UTM, which allows users to run virtual machines on iOS devices. And despite some of the problems you might have anticipated, everything worked really well . if you had the patience.

Apple calls iOS the world's most advanced mobile operating system, but what happens when one operating system is not enough? It seems that you won't be able to easily boot into another operating system like you usually do on a Mac or PC; Apple simply doesn't allow that on iOS.

But that does not mean impossible. YouTuber, nicknamed "Hacking Jules", who previously brought Windows onto other Apple devices, has successfully brought Microsoft's latest operating system to the iPhone X.

An iPhone running Windows 10

The 13-minute video below shows Windows 10 working on Apple's 2017 flagship. You will see everything from the boot screen to File Explorer, and even the real Windows applications - including Word and Paint.

But you'll also quickly notice that speed is the biggest issue when running Windows 10 on iPhone X: everything is sluggish. Hacking Jules explained that booting the Windows virtual machine alone took nearly 20 minutes.

This process is likely to be faster on newer iOS devices, but what we're seeing here is obviously an impressive achievement. It shows that Apple's mobile devices are capable of doing many things, as long as you dare to try beyond the closed wall of Apple.

And this is not the only thing UTM can do.

Virtual machine on iOS

UTM can be used to install other versions of Windows, Android, and more on Apple devices. Hacking Jules has previously used it to run Mac OS 8, along with WarCraft II and SimCity 2000 games, on iPhone.

UTM does not require you to jailbreak, although it is one of the ways to install UTM. It is also not an Apple-approved application to appear on the App Store. Instead, you'll have to sideload UTM with an unofficial app market like AltStore.

If you are interested in scratching, you can follow these simple steps. However, installing virtual machines after UTM setup is a bit more complicated.
