The M-Lab research organization, founded by Google, Princeton University and the Open Technology Institute of the United States, has conducted more than 163 million tests globally since May 30, 2017 to May 29, 2018. The results show that the global average Internet speed has increased from 7.4 Mb / s to 9.1 Mbps, an increase of 23% over the same period last year.

Also according to data from M-Lab, the highest average Internet speed countries in the world belong to Europe, America and major economic centers of Asia - Pacific such as Singapore, Japan and Taiwan. Loan . Leading the world is Singapore with an average speed of 60 Mb / s (last year was 55 Mb / s). In second place is Sweden with 46 Mb / s, third is Denmark with 43 Mb / s. The US ranked 20th with a speed of 26 Mbps.

However, not every country has an average increase in Internet speed, but on the other hand is down, particularly as China last year ranked 134 but has now fallen to position 141 with a speed of only 2.4 Mb / s. Even in countries like Syria or Somalia the average Internet speed is just below 1 Mbps.
