Slack has 350,000 new users from IBM, the competition with Microsoft Teams is hotter than ever

The battle for market share in the enterprise-class online group management service has always been known as a two-horse race between the two big guys Slack and Microsoft Teams. Although Microsoft Teams launched nearly five years later, it quickly caught up and officially surpassed its rivals at the end of November after reaching a record of 20 million regular users - a number of which Microsoft itself did not expect.

However Slack has never been an easy opponent to play. Recently, the competition between the two giants has once again become hotter than ever when Slack unexpectedly surpassed Microsoft Teams and won the bid for group management service, internal communication between 350,000 IBM employees, at the same time making IBM its largest partner. This important victory caused Slack's shares to immediately increase 21%, giving the company the confidence needed under increasing pressure from rivals.

In fact, some parts of IBM have been using Slack since 2014, but it is only now that the US software giant has officially adopted cloud-based team management service of Slack on a group-wide scale means that 350,000 employees on IBM will start moving to Slack in the near future. With such a large user base, it's undeniable that being chosen by IBM as a partner is Slack's strategic success. This not only brings a large amount of revenue but also reputation for the company.
