Many people often have the habit of posting photos of airline tickets or movie tickets on social networks without anticipating possible bad situations. But after reading the story of the American guy below, they will definitely have to think again.
Robbie Johnson, a US baseball fan, spent $ 650, or more than VND15 million, a sizable amount of money to buy tickets to watch the Boston Red Sox live in the World Championship. Too happy, he took a photo of the ticket and posted it immediately on Instagram with Public mode.
Robbie shows off his ticket photo to Instagram and leaves it in Public mode.
On the opening day of the match, October 24, Robbie excitedly went to the ticket counter to prepare for the match. But very soon after that, the male guy came out when the scanner refused continuously. Robbie had to go to the management department to present the case. The final conclusion is that a few hours ago someone came and scanned the ticket with Robbie's seat information validly.
Robbie did not have proof to prove he was a victim and could not ask the guard to find someone who had robbed his ticket. Finally, he had to pity for another 450 USD (10 million VND) to have a chance to watch the baseball game.
Later, Robbie remembered that because he was so happy, he took both the barcode and personal ticket code, unique for each ticket stalk sold. With that information, the bad guys can easily fake another ticket with the available template, just change the number to match.
Immediately after realizing this, Robbie had access to Instagram account and installed in private mode.
He had to spend a total of 25 million dong to watch the match.
This story is a warning to everyone, absolutely keeping all information on personal tickets / invitations related to public events in order to avoid forging information and being approached by bad guys for bad purposes .
