Seagate 12TB BarraCuda Pro is the world's largest and fastest 3.5-inch hard drive

No matter what others say, there is nothing called having too much storage space on the PC, always as much as possible.

Whether you are a professional, a gamer or a digital enthusiast, if you want to find a hard drive with the largest and fastest storage space for a desktop computer, there is no need to look beyond Seagate's BarraCUda Pro hard drive.

The 3.5-inch hard drive stores 12TB of data, which means it will store a lot of 4K videos on it. Many people use a 500GB or 1TB hard drive, sometimes 2TB, store high-definition videos or PC games for fanhardcore.

However, 12TB is a completely different step for a flat disk drive. BarraCuda Pro is not an SSD, so it is not a static drive but still runs fast. Rotation speed of 7,200 rpm, continuous reading and writing with 250MB / s speed with 256MB cache.

There will be a lot of data stored on this 3.5-inch only drive

But that is too much complicated information that an ordinary person needs to care about. In short, how much can be stored with 12TB capacity? Trying to compute a bit would be like this:

  1. About 12,000,000 eBooks (about 1MB each).
  2. Approximately 6,000,000 photos (photos taken with 12 megapixel camera on iPhone 7 average 2MB).
  3. About 3,000,000 iTunes songs (an average of 4MB a song about 4 minutes).
  4. About 2,666 Full HD movies on iTunes (an average of 4.5GB each).
  5. About 480 Blu-Rays movies (about 25GB each).

Seagate said that the new hard drive is suitable for VR, AR, 4K and 360-degree videos, often with a larger capacity. Of course, the price is not clear. Seagate has not disclosed the price but retailer B&H has listed the price of $ 480.
