YouTube Vanced is a modified version of YouTube that is very popular in the Android community. It adds some features you'll never find in the official Google YouTube app. Things like built-in ad blocker, playing in the background without YouTube Premium, black / dark theme, etc.

Vanced YouTube Features

- Has a prominent black theme option to reduce eye strain and battery impact.

- Block all video ads and let you play videos in the background or in Picture in Picture mode (only on Android 8.0 and up).

- Swipe controls let you control brightness and volume, just like in other video player apps like VLC or MX Player (with configurable padding).

- New auto repeat feature lets you enjoy videos like tiktok / vine or simply keep playing a song on repeat.

- If you don't like the new commentary or mini player, they can also be carried over to tablet versions very similar to the old version (albeit with a bit of bugs).

Customizability

Allows you to override Codec options such as forcing H264 to legacy devices or VP9, ​​which also allows you to force HDR playback or 60fps off, if you prefer the cinematic experience. (You can find custom device configurations for these features on Discord or XDA).

- Force default video resolution as high or low as you want and even override screen resolution to play crisp 4K on any device, while also letting you change default playback speed to any other option between 0.25x and 2x (provided your device is strong enough).

Allows you to switch between homepage ads, most front end ads, merchandise ads, completely delete comments, etc.
