This security vulnerability was identified as CVE-2017-6975, discovered by a Google Zero project staff named Gal Beniamini. People posted on their Twitter and said that more information about this vulnerability will be available tomorrow.

Apple did not give any technical details about this vulnerability, but the company called on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users to update their device as soon as possible.

In the security note related to iOS 10.3.1, Apple describes this issue as a buffer overflow error, and has been resolved by improving the input data memory.

Specifically, for the vulnerability of iOS 10.3, hackers can take advantage of this to disperse malicious code through the Wifi chip of iPhone device.

Any type of device running Apple's iOS 10.3 operating system since iPhone 5, iPad 4 and iPod 6 or above is affected by this security error. However, because the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C are Apple's last iPhone phones with 32-bit processors with Apple's A6 system chip, it will not be affected by this error.

Currently users can update iOS version 10.3.1 directly in Settings (Settings)> General (General Settings)> Software Update.
