Instructions for using AR road features on Google Maps

This Google Maps AR mode will help you know the details of the aisle guided in Google Maps through actual images.

Google Maps has recently launched a new feature that allows users to have a new experience in driving directions by incorporating enhanced virtual reality technology (AR) and the phone's rear camera. Google Maps will show directions based on actual images at the user's location.

Specifically, when Google Maps has pinpointed the location of where the user is, the application will begin to compare and match the images collected on the camera with information available on Google's servers to provide Instruction arrow with location display name on the screen interface. Users only need to follow the directions arrows to reach the destination.

However, this AR-only feature is only used for walking and unusable options when driving. If you lower the phone in just a second, the AR mode will automatically turn off and return to the standard Google Maps interface.

To use Google Maps AR directions, follow the instructions below

  1. How to turn off Google Maps location notification
  2. How to message on Google Maps for businesses

Google Maps will have regular notifications to prevent users from paying too much attention to the screen when using this AR route feature. You should only use this virtual reality directions when you get to a point without knowing how to proceed.

If you deliberately do not listen to the advice, Google Maps will automatically reduce the screen brightness. This is to help users do not encounter unfortunate accidents while using this Google Maps virtual reality mode and just help save battery for your smartphone.
