Method 1: Use Task Scheduler

Step 1:
In the search bar on Windows, enter the keyword Task Scheduler , and then click on the search result as shown below.

Soon the Task Scheduler window appears. In the Actions area on the right, we will click on Create Basic Task .
Step 3:
Soon the interface of the Create Basic Task Wizard will appear. In Name, we change the name to Auto Shutdown . Description, we can write a description as shown below.
Click Next to proceed to the next step.
Step 4:
Next, we will select the task execution time . Because I want to schedule automatic shutdown everyday, I will choose Daily . Click Next to continue the following steps.
Step 5:
Next, you will select the time to schedule automatic shutdown .

- SelectBrowser access folder under the path C: WindowsSystem32 select Shutdown.exe.
- Add arguments section enter -s -t parameter 1800(1800 is the unit of seconds equivalent to 30 minutes).
Finally click Next .

Step 8:
So we have completed the automatic shutdown scheduling operations.
To cancel , delete or temporarily turn off this task , go to Task Scheduler and select Task Scheduler Library and right-click and choose Auto Shutdown in the middle interface.

Method 2: Timer to turn off the computer with CMD command
Step 1:
Click the Win + R key combination to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2:
Next, enter the command shutdown -s -tx . For example, we have 1800s = 30 minutes, 360s = 1 hour and then click OK to run the task. Inside:
- shutdown: Turn off the computer.
- s: short for shutdown.
- t: short for time (time).
- 3600: Shutdown timer is calculated in seconds.
The time here will be calculated in seconds, depending on the shutdown needs, we change to a reasonable second value such as:
- 5 minutes: shutdown -s -t 300
- 10 minutes: shutdown -s -t 600
- 15 minutes: shutdown -s -t 900
- 30 minutes: shutdown -s -t 1800
- 1 hour: shutdown -s -t 3600
- 2 hours: shutdown -s -t 7200
- 3 hours: shutdown -s -t 10800
- 4 hours: shutdown -s -t 14400
However, this method can only be used once. If you want to apply it next time, you will have to do the above operation again.
