How to restart (restart) Chromebook
Every electronic device with an operating system needs to be rebooted after a long period of use.
This is usually a fairly simple process, but can effectively solve a wide range of problems you're having on your system. So how do you reboot a Chromebook? Let's find out right here.
Restart (restart) Chromebook
It sounds strange, but in reality, there is absolutely no way for you to "reboot" your Chromebook in the traditional sense. Usually, a reboot means that the device will turn itself off and back on shortly thereafter, but not Chrome OS. This may be because Chrome OS itself has also supported the ability to shut down and start up extremely fast. Basically, there are two ways for you to do it.
You can use available software options. First, click or tap the clock icon on the taskbar in the bottom right corner of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
Next, tap or click the power icon in the Quick Settings menu. This will immediately turn off the device.
Now, you just need to press the power button on your Chromebook to start the system. It could be a button on the side or on the keyboard of the device.
The second method uses that same physical power button to turn off the Chromebook. You can hold down this button until the device turns off, or press it once and then select 'Shut Down' from the menu that appears on the screen.
The device will immediately turn off. You can now turn the system back on by pressing the physical power button again.
It's all as simple as that! Most operating systems have a system 'Restart' option, with the exception of Chrome OS. It's not clear what the real reason is, but Chromebooks can shut down and boot up so quickly anyway that it doesn't matter if there's a restart option.
