How to add units to cells in Excel
Each item, represented data in Excel, will have formats for specific symbols such as Excel currency symbols, date format, time or percent format. Each type of unit format will be separated into each item in Format Cells for users to choose to use. However, while processing data tables, format units are not always available for you to apply immediately to the data sheet.
There are many types of non-supported Excel units that users have to manually add units to use. Even in Format Cells, a separate item is available so that we can enter new units that we want to add to the data used in the Excel table. Instructions for adding cell units in Excel
We will deal with the data table below. The unit to be used is a pair of columns for shoes and sets for columns of Clothes. These 2 units are not available in Excel but you must manually add them.
Step 1:
First, you need to highlight the column to add the unit, then right-click and choose Format Cells .
Step 2:
Displays the format editing interface for cells in Excel. Here we click on the Custom group to customize the unit for the cell in Excel. Then click on 0 to display it as in Type.
Step 3:
Next in the Type section we type the new unit we want to add to the cell in Excel, such as 0 'double' . Spaces and diacritics are required in the unit you want to add. Click Ok below to add.
The result of that column has been added as shown below.
Next we have to add a new unit for the other column with the same way.
Users can also add units to the first cell as shown above, then click the Format Painter icon to copy the units for all the remaining cells in the data column.
Then the unit is also applied to the entire cell in the column.
With this method, you will easily add new units to represent data in Excel cells when not available. While entering a new unit in Format Cells we need to enter the correct syntax to display the unit for the cell.
I wish you all success!
