Google founded the App Defense Alliance, which will have to bypass more censorship rounds before appearing on the Play Store

Recently, Google has partnered with other security companies to form an alliance to ensure the safety of the Play Store app store.

The number of software on the Play Store is increasing rapidly, so controlling these applications is a problem for Google. Google Play Protect, the censorship unit of the Google Play Store, is currently overloaded.

Meanwhile, hackers have always found a way to insert malicious code into the software on this app store. To prevent malicious applications, Google has partnered with ESET, Lookout and Zimperium, big names in the field of security, to form an alliance called the App Defense Alliance.

Alliance members will share information with each other to detect malicious code more effectively, preventing malicious applications before being distributed to users.

Specifically, Google shares to coalition members information about applications pending approval. They will be analyzed and tested by Google partners. The results will be sent back to Google Play Protect service and vice versa.

As such, applications will have to bypass many more censorship cycles than before, being scanned for malware many times by various testing tools, before being released on the Google Play Store.
