Fix the latest iPhone crash

On December 2, some users encountered an iPhone crash. This is the cause and remedy.

If you install the App Store using Local Notification, then when the date is December 2, 2017 at your local time, the iPhone will start to crash. Latest iOS 11.1 has fixed this error, Apple Support recommends turning off notifications for each application and updating iPhone.

  1. Settings > Notifications.
  2. Select the application, turn off Allow Notifications. Do so for each application.
  3. Update to iOS 11.2.

If you are unable to update or still receive an error after updating, contact Apple Support. Because iOS 11.2 has just been released a few days ago, the Apple Pay system may not be available until early next week.

If you change the data to fix the iPhone crash and have trouble with Face ID after updating, reboot may help (and remember to change the time to auto update).

Certain errors on iOS's time system cause Local Notifications to consume a lot of memory and crash Springboard.

Local Notifications cause iOS to crash

What is Local Notifications?

This is a notification option from apps on the App Store. Unlike remote notifications, these messages do not come from Internet services. 'Application creates notification details right on the phone and switches to the system'. Often this message is used to tell users what the application wants you to do, for example, in-to-do-list or feeding the pet in the game.

Up to this point, all reported cases of errors come from applications downloaded from the App Store and use Apple's Local Notification. Turning on DND doesn't help fix this.

How to turn off app notifications?

This is a rather unpaid solution but with the least problems:

  1. Turn on Settings
  2. Select Notifications
  3. Select the application you want to turn off notifications
  4. Drag the slider on Off Allow Notifications
  5. Do the same with other applications
