Facebook Messenger has a new minimalist design

Facebook Messenger's new interface will cut some features, focusing on Stories and friends to simplify the user experience.

According to TechCrunch, Facebook is redesigning the interface of Messenger and will roll out to the iOS platform in the near future.

Facebook Messenger's new interface will cut some features, focusing on Stories and friends to simplify the user experience.

The new Messenger will not have the Discover tab, where users will have easy access to businesses, product brands and game providers. Since last summer, Facebook has been trying to remove games from Messenger.

TechCrunch says these features are not completely removed from Messenger, they are only hidden. Users can still search for them in the app's search bar, then access them normally.

At the bottom of the new Messenger interface will only have 2 tabs, including: Chats, showing all recent chats and People, showing a list of who's online and friends' Stories.

Stories have a dedicated area and are featured. This shows how important Facebook is to copy from Snapchat.

According to a Facebook representative, Messenger's new interface will soon be updated for the first iOS users, Android users will also be updated later. However, the exact time of the update has never been revealed.
