Google Duo adds 'Family Mode' and web-based group calls
Google has added some updates to its Google Duo video calling application to make conversations come to life, including the new Family Mode.
According to Engadget , using Family Mode, users can add cute AR effects or doodle during communication. The interface also hides the hangup and mute buttons so that the participants in the chat do not accidentally give up the call when the other party is engrossed in expression.
Those effects and masks will also come to all one-on-one conversations on both Android and iOS this week, starting with the Mother's Day effect.
Make group chats on Google Duo even easier. Google is planning to introduce Duo group calls on the web in the coming weeks. It will only appear as a preview of Chrome, but will include a new layout that allows more people to appear at once.
Users can also easily join the conversation just like other group chat services, and invite anyone with an account by sending a link. Essentially, users can also use Google Duo for business, study or friends' meetings, although there are certain limitations.
