IV. Features to recognize faces on photos in Photos
Face detection on photos in the Photos app on iPhone and iPad will recognize the faces of all the people who have appeared in your photos and group them into an album called People. This album allows you to review the photos that person appears.
Apples has used the technology to help the device not only identify those who appear inside the image but also recognize the same person when the person appears in other photos. Although not really perfect, but this feature still gives users some certain convenience. With this feature, you can view a person's normal face, name them, delete faces that are difficult to identify and hide any face you don't want to look at.
For the new iOS 10.1 version of Apple, you can sync your loved ones face via iCloud, making it easier to organize Memories and photos.
1. Why do I want to use the face detection feature on photos in my iPhone and iPad Photos app?
The facial recognition feature on photos in the Photos app of the iPhone and iPad automatically recognizes the faces of people who appear in your photos and their group into an album called People .
You can skip this album if you want, but if you go inside the album and revise the names of the people you know through those photos, you can easily use the Photos app search engine to Find the picture that appears the person you want to find.
2. How to view all photos of the person you want to see
- Open Photos app on the home screen.
- Select the album item in the right corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- On the People album (everyone).
- Click on the face of the person you want to see the whole picture of that person

3. How to name or edit the names of everyone in the Photos app
- In the People album, click on the face of the person you want to name or edit.
- Click on + Add Name (add a name) (or click on the person's name if you have already given them a name)
- Write the name you want to put.When you write, the app will give you name suggestions from your contacts, you can choose from contacts or you can also choose a new name.
- Click Done.
4. How to delete a photo that the device has identified as the wrong person
There will be situations where you have friends or relatives who look quite similar in some situations and the device has identified the wrong person.You can delete it by the following way:
- In the People album, click on the face of the person you see.
- Click Select in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Click Show All if you're not sure what image you want to edit.
- Click Show Faces to enlarge the recognized face in each photo.
- Select the photo that you think the device has mistakenly identified.
- Click the Share icon in the left corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Not This Person (not this person) at the bottom row of the screen.
5. How to add people to favorites in Photos app
- Open Photos app on the home screen.
- Select the album item in the right corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- On the People album (everyone) .
- Click and hold on the person face image you want to add to the favorites located at the bottom half of the screen and then drag it to the upper half of the screen.Or you can press Select in the upper right corner of the screen, select the photo of the person you want to put in your favorite, then click Favorite in the middle of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- To remove a person from favorites, press and hold the person's photo and scroll down to the bottom half of the screen.Then do the same way on.
- If you just want to see the people you have added to your favorites, click Show Favorites Only (show only favorites) to hide all others.
6. How to hide people or faces in People album
- Open Photos app on the home screen.
- Select the album item in the right corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- On the People album (everyone) .
- Click Select , then click Hide in the lower left corner of the screen.
- After you hide that person, a new area will appear below.That's where all the people you hide are displayed.Click Show Less to completely hide their photos on the screen.
Note: Hide people just make them disappear from the screen in People album, you will still see photos with their faces in the Photos app main screen, unless you hide the picture.
7. How to add people or faces in Photos app
- Open Photos app on the home screen.
- Select the album item in the right corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- On the People album (everyone) .
- Click the Add People icon (add people) with the plus symbol (+) .
- Choose one or more people you want to add.
- Select Add.
8. How to group people or faces into a Photos app
- In some cases, a person will be able to have several different face groups.To avoid confusion, you can choose to merge two or more identical face groups.
- Open Photos app on the home screen.
- Select the album item in the right corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- On the People album (everyone) .
- Select Select.
- Choose two or more people you want to merge.
- Select Merge (merge) , then select Merge again.
