The hyperlink consists of two basic parts: the website address ( URL ) and the display text . For example, your address could be http://www.popsci.com and the display text might be a popular scientific journal .
When creating a link in Word, you will be able to select both the address and the display text.
Word often recognizes email and web addresses when you type; Then it will automatically format them as hyperlink as soon as you press Enter or the spacebar . In the images below, you can see an email address and web address that are linked.

- To make hyperlink in Word, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the hyperlink.

Format text with hyperlink:
1. Select the text you want to format like hyperlink.

2. Select the Insert tab , then click the Hyperlink command .

3. The Insert Hyperlink dialog box will appear.
4. The selected text will appear in the Text to display field at the top. You can change this text if you want.
5. In the Address field, type the address you want to link to, then click OK .

6. The text will then be formatted as a hyperlink.

- To remove a hyperlink , right-click the link and select Remove Hyperlink from the menu that appears.

- After creating a hyperlink, you should check again. If you have linked to a website, your web browser will automatically open and display the website. If it does not work, please check that the link address may be misspelled.
- Now the text just inserted the link will be green and you just need to hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then click on the text to open the website you just inserted.
- Alternatively, you can open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box by right-clicking on the selected text and selecting Hyperlink . from the menu that appears. Once you have inserted a hyperlink, you can right-click the link to edit, open, copy or delete it.
