Wifi icon missing on the Taskbar Windows 10, this is how to fix
By default, the network or Wifi icon always appears on the system tray of Windows 10 Taskbar so that users know if their computer is connected to the network?However for some reason (such as upgrading to Windows or installing on Windows 10 .) that icon disappears.Here's how to fix it.
1. Check if the wireless network icon is hidden?
Check if the network icon and Wifi icon are hidden?
Step 1:
Click the small arrow in the Taskbar to see hidden icons.
Step 2:
If the network icon or wireless network icon appears here, simply drag and drop the icon to the system tray in the Taskbar.
2. Via Settings
Step 1:
Open Start Menu then click on the Settings icon to open the Settings application.
Or you can press the Windows + I key combination to open the Settings application.
Step 2:
Click on the System icon then select Notifications & actions .
Step 3:
Click Turn system icons on or off.
Step 4:
Check if Network status is ON or OFF, if OFF you turn ON.
Step 5:
Click on the back arrow icon to return to Notifications & actions interface. Click Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
Step 6:
Follow the same steps to check if Network is ON or OFF, if it is OFF, switch ON.
3. Restart Windows Explorer
Step 1:
Open Task Manager by right-clicking any space on the Taskbar then clicking Task Manager.
Step 2:
If you don't see the Task Manager option displayed, click More details.
Step 3:
On the Processes tab, right-click the Windows Explorer option and then select Restart .
4. Activate the network icon (Network icon) on Group Policy
Note: This method only applies on Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise versions, not on the Home version.
Step 1:
On the Start Menu or on the Search Bar Taskbar, enter the keyword gpedit.msc and press Enter to open Local Group Policy Editor.
Step 2:
Navigate by path:
User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Start Menu and Taskbar.
Step 3:
In the list of right frame options, find the Remove the networking icon option, then double-click that option to open the Properties window .
Step 4:
Select Disabled , then click Apply.
Finally, log out and log in again. Now you will see the wireless network icon appear in the system tray of the Taskbar.
You can also restart Windows Explorer to apply changes.
