The One UI 6 Watch update brings AI features to the Samsung Galaxy Watch
The company announced the One UI 6 Watch update based on Wear OS 5 with AI features and it's exciting for many reasons.
Samsung is expected to announce its next generation of wearables – the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Ring series during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled to take place on June 10.
What's new in the One UI 6 Watch update?
Samsung is bringing Galaxy AI to its Wear OS smartwatches via the upcoming One UI 6 Watch update. The new features are primarily focused on health and are available in Samsung Health, and will provide more personalized health advice to Galaxy Watch users.
The two main features are Energy Score and Wellness Tips. Energy Score can help track your energy by looking at the current day's sleep, the previous day's sleep, heart rate, and waking consistency to give you a score on a 100-point scale.
From what we see, health tips will show you personalized tracking cards on the Samsung Health dashboard to show sleep time, fat burning goals and resting heart rate as well as providing tips on how to achieve your goals.
Samsung says the sleep tracking algorithms have been drastically improved to provide more accurate insights to users. Additionally, One UI 6 Watch will also display information about your heart rate zones to ensure you're burning that extra fat!
There's also a new feature called Functional Threshold Power that can calculate your power threshold if you're a cyclist.
Availability and supported devices
Testing of One UI 6 Watch will begin in June on the Samsung Members app. Recruitment will likely only take place in Korea at first but will later expand to other countries, but only for those with Samsung smartphones.
Here are all the Samsung smartwatches that will receive the One UI 6 Watch update.
