Lanham discovered his strange ability when he was 14 years old, after an accident at a high school gym. He fell from a height of 5.4m when clinging and climbing a rope. He 'landed' with a reverse leg. The teacher said that Lanham had a fracture or dislocated ankle. But Lanham still stood up and felt normal in everyone's amazement.

The next day, the boy named Lanham tried to reverse his remaining foot and discovered his special ability. From then on, he often went with his feet turned behind.

Although the sight of him walking in a 'rotating foot' posture may cause some people to be 'frightened' but Lanham said he did not feel any pain and quite enjoyed the feeling.

After X-rays and tests, doctors said Lanham was born with more tissue and cartilage in the joint. This is why his hips, knees and ankles are especially flexible.

Scientists believe that Lanham is the only person in the world who has this special ability. But in 1999, he and his wife discovered Trey, their 6-year-old son, had a special ability like his father.
