Samsung announces the world's first 240Hz 4K monitor

Samsung today revealed three new models of its monitors for 2022. All of these models are expected to be officially announced during the CES 2022 event taking place from January 5-7 in Las Vegas.

The first of these new monitors is the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8. This is the world's first 32-inch monitor with 4K 240Hz resolution. It also has 1000R curvature and Quantum Mini LED backlighting. The mini LED backlight system uses units that are 1/40th the size of conventional LED units. With Samsung's Quantum Matrix and Quantum HDR 2000 technologies, the display can achieve peak brightness of up to 2000 nits in HDR content. The next model is the Smart Monitor M8, which has a webcam that works with the built-in Google Duo app. The display also comes preloaded with apps for streaming services, allowing you to use the display as a smart TV without having to connect a source device. It's 32 inches with UHD resolution, and you also get a remote, similar to the one you get on Samsung TVs.

Finally, the Samsung S8, designed for content creation. It comes in 32-inch, 27-inch sizes with UHD resolution and is the world's first monitor certified as glare-free by Underwriters Laboratories. The S8 is capable of covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified (32-inch only) and supports wired LAN. 

The displays are expected to be launched in the first half of 2022. More information will be revealed during the CES 2022 event.
