Recently, Microsoft has quietly revealed that it will remove the independent PDF Reader application on Windows 10 because it will be replaced by readers on the Edge browser. The company has stopped supporting the application on Windows 10 Mobile devices and plans to stop using it on Windows 10 devices in the near future.

Microsoft Reader application is said to be redundant on Windows when Edge contains full of useful features such as highlighting or drawing directly on PDF files for users to easily take notes and edit.

After February 15, 2018, you will not be able to use the PDF Reader application on Windows 10 anymore. Microsoft suggests users should use Edge browser to read PDF, Windows XPS Viewer for XPS and Windows Photos application to read TIFF files.
