Mental preparation Facebook Messenger will have more ads

To avoid making users annoyed by the advertising storm, the company's plan is to gradually add more. 'We will start slowly,' said Facebook's Messenger product manager Stan Chudnovsky at a conference in San Francisco last week. 'When users are sure to see them, we are not sure, because we also rely on user data and feedback to make that decision.'

An ad will appear halfway through Messenger's message list, a slight change from the conveyor belt that the company tested earlier. But at least Facebook doesn't insert ads in the middle of the conversation, at least at this point. These are the last "lands" to advertise that Facebook can use to keep growth steady, while not making users 'suffocate' because of advertising. Analysts also said that the company was close to the point of starting to feel squeezed out by the limits.

This is not the first type of advertising that Facebook tries to include in Messenger. The company launched the ad format last fall, allowing it to be inserted into users' chats. With these new ads, advertisers can target users who they have previously connected to. Facebook also claims not to use information obtained from users' messages to direct advertising.
