1. Preparing process to join the domain on Windows 8.1

Option A: Create an account in Active Directory.

Option B: Create an on-the-fly account when you connect to the domain.

Prerequisites:

1. Your Windows 8.1 computer must have an Active Directory account

2. Your Windows 8.1 computer must be able to connect to a domain controller.

3. Windows 8.1 version must be Windows 8.1 Professional or Enterprise (versions cannot join the domain).

4. You must log in to Windows 8.1 with a Local Admin account.

5. For option B you must use the domain Admin name and password.

1. In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the magnifying glass icon, then enter System in the search box and then click the System icon.

2. Check DNS with Ipconfig

4. You can update DNS
