How to use Password Reset Disk to reset Windows password?
In previous articles, Network Administrator showed you how to create a Password Reset Disk on Windows 7/8/10. In the following article, Network Administrator will guide you how to use Password Reset Disk to reset Windows password.
To reset your Windows login password, the first step is to log into Windows with the account you forgot your password. After you login the password incorrectly, Windows will display an error message screen.
Under the error message screen you will see the Reset Password option (on Windows 7/8/10 versions, .) or Use your password reset disk (on Windows XP):
Click the Reset Password option or Use your password reset disk , and the Password Reset wizard window will appear.
Here, click Next to start the reset process.
On the next window, select the correct USB Password Reset Disk then click Next.
Next, create a new password to log in to your computer in the Type a new password frame and confirm the new password again in the Type the password again to confirm box .
Create a suggestion in the Type a new password hint box to help you remember your password.
After creating the password, click Next.
Next, click Finish to close the Password Reset Wizard window.
Finally go back to the login screen and enter the password you just created to log in to Windows.
