How to update Win 7, update Windows 7 to the latest version
Updating Windows 7 and security patches for Windows 7 will help you limit the risk of dangerous malware or ransomware infections such as WannaCry. There are two ways to update Windows 7, one is to update via Windows Update, the other is to download the update and install it manually.
Update Windows 7 automatically
The Windows Update feature in Windows 7 is different from the newer Windows versions. If you have turned off the Windows 7 update, follow the manual update below. To access Windows Updates on Windows 7, just press Start, type "Windows Update", then press Enter.
Windows Update divides updates to 'important' and 'optional'. Important updates are selected for download and installation by default. Optional updates (optional) are not selected. To control Windows updates, click on the relevant link.
The window that opens allows you to select each update you want to install.
If you have updates that you know you will never install and want to stop watching them, right-click one or more updates, and then select 'Hide updates' from the context menu.
If you want to review your hidden updates, return to the main Windows Update screen and click the " Restore hidden updates " link.
When you return to the main Windows Update window and click the "Install updates" button , all important updates and options you have selected are downloaded and installed. Some updates will require you to agree with the EULA, before installation can proceed, but you can also agree to all the necessary EULA, before the actual update process begins, so that you do not have to worry and peace of mind to monitor the entire installation process.
Some updates will require a reboot of the system, but you will have the option of delaying the reboot in a few hours, or until you reboot manually.
Windows 7 also allows you to change some settings that govern how Windows installs updates. You can ask Windows to automatically check for and install new critical updates, fully update automatically, or let Windows check for updates, but notify you before downloading. Other options allow you to control whether the proposed updates are installed with important updates, what users can install for updates and whether other products of Whether Microsoft is updated or not.
To uninstall the update in Windows 7, go to Control Panel, then select Uninstall a Program, then click 'View installed updates'. Select the update and then click the 'Uninstall' button . Again, research it carefully and make sure that other people are having the same problem with that update. Remember to create a system restore point or backup your computer before uninstalling any updates.
