How to Connect Two TVs to an Xbox
If you have an Xbox 360 or Xbox One, you can project images on two TV screens without using a cable splitter. The methods in this article only show the same image, but this is ideal if you want to game elsewhere in the house with your Xbox 360 connected to multiple TV screens or on your Xbox One streaming to any computer that uses Windows 10. The basic Xbox cannot play on two TVs without a cable splitter.
Use composite cables on Xbox 360
Verify your Xbox 360 model. There are three Xbox 360 models: base, slim, and E. Some models, including older versions of Xbox 360, do not allow HDMI output settings; while newer versions, including the Slim and E series, have HDMI output. All models accept composite cables (red, white and yellow). This method does not work with Xbox One.
Connect the video output cable to the Xbox 360. You can set up dual-display output by using a thin composite video cable with an HDMI cable or by using a cable that can play composite and component video. included with older models.
Use a slim composite video connector with an HDMI cable to create an output connection from the console.
Use a combination of composite and component video cables if you have an older model that uses these cables. The connector has a slider at the point where it connects to the Xbox 360. Push the slider to 'TV'. Only a television can produce audio output using this method. You cannot use separate composite and component video cables.
Connect the yellow composite cable to the device accepting input. You need to use a TV or other device that accepts composite cables. If you want sound to come from this device, attach the red and white audio cables to it.
Connect the high-quality cable set to another video input device. If you want to use an HDMI cable, attach the HDMI cable to a device that accepts HDMI input. If you use a composite and component video cable set, you will attach the red, blue, and green cables to the device that accepts component video.
There's no need for red and white audio cables if you use HDMI.
If you want to create audio output using component cables, use red and white audio cables for the video input device.
Turn on the display and set the video input to Xbox 360. Set the video input for each display based on the type of cable used. Select AV if you use composite, select component if component cables are used, and select HDMI if you use HDMI cables.
Turn on your Xbox 360. You should immediately see video output on both televisions. If the screen does not display an image, it means the TV does not support video signals from that cable. Try using another TV that supports that video signal with the same cable.
Use Windows 10 on Xbox One
Verify system requirements. To use this method, you must have an Xbox One and a Windows 10 computer that meets these system requirements. A wired connection is recommended but not required. You can connect your Windows 10 desktop or laptop to a supported connection type such as VGA or HDMI.
RAM stick with 2GB capacity, CPU with speed of 1.5 GHz or higher, wired Ethernet connection or 802.11 N/AC Wireless connection.
Connect your Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller to your computer. Xbox One control requires the Xbox One wireless adapter for Windows 10, or you can connect directly with a USB to micro USB cable. Or, you can use a wired Xbox 360 controller or a wireless Xbox 360 controller with the Xbox 360 wireless adapter for computers.
Turn on Streaming on Xbox One. Live streaming must be enabled on the console to stream to a Windows 10 computer. Xbox 360 consoles don't have this feature (which is why this method doesn't work on Xbox 360). On your Xbox One system, you'll go into settings, select customizations, and make sure 'Allow game streaming to other devices (beta)' is selected. toggle SmartGlass connection on and off by selecting 'From any SmartGlass device' or 'Only from profiles signed in on this Xbox'.
Open the Xbox app on Windows 10 and sign in. Click the start button on the left side of the taskbar that is usually visible below the screen and select the Xbox app. Sign in to the same Xbox Gamertag account used on your Xbox One system.
Connect your Windows 10 computer to your Xbox One. On your computer, you'll select 'Connect' from the left pane. The application will scan for Xbox One devices on the same network. Once the console is found, you will select the streaming system.
Stream video to Windows 10. Once your computer is connected to your Xbox One, you need to select the stream button.
Use a cable splitter with any Xbox console
Confirm the connection type needed. You only need one type of video output from the console. This method is applicable to all Xbox consoles including basic Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Basic Xbox consoles and some older Xbox 360 consoles do not support HDMI. Xbox One only supports HDMI.
Purchase cable splitters and necessary wires. The cable splitter will take the video output from the console and use the same type of connection for both displays. Depending on the cable splitter, you may need to purchase two additional cables to set up the input for each display.
Connect the video output between the game console and the cable splitter. There is only one video output from the console.
Connect the cable splitter to both displays and power it on. You need two cables to send video output to two separate displays. Set each monitor's video input to the connection type used: composite, component, or HDMI. Both screens will use the same connection type.
Turn on your Xbox. The images on both screens are the same. If not, you need to check the connections and try again.
