You may be aware that you are allowing third-party applications and services to access some or all of your data when using Facebook to subscribe to those applications and services. However, do you know your friends when using third-party applications and services that are also accessing some of your data?
This is how Facebook describes this feature: Everyone on Facebook can view their friends' information and can bring them with them when using the app. This makes their application experience better and more social.
If you do not want these personal data collected by a third party, you can opt out of this data sharing feature.
How to turn off Facebook data sharing
- Open the Facebook application from the home screen.
- Touch the Menu icon at the bottom right (with iPhone), in the upper right corner with Android.
- Select Settings & Privacy at the bottom of the page with iPhone, Android skips this step.
- Select Account Settings / Account settings
- Choose Apps / Apps near the bottom of the page.
- Choose Apps others use / Other user applications .
- Uncheck tick in all applications
This will prevent applications and services that your friends are using from accessing your Facebook data.
