Google will release a free AI photo editing tool for iPhone users

From May 15, Google will release a number of artificial intelligence (AI) image editing tools for free on smartphone devices, including iPhones.

Google said that starting May 15, the company will expand access to AI image editing features that are only available on Pixel phones and the Google One cloud storage subscription service. .

Google's image AI features currently include: Magic Eraser - a tool to remove objects from photos, Photo Unblur to help clear out-of-focus images (also known as out-of-focus or out-of-focus) and Portrait Light - rebalance frame lighting.

These tools will appear on many other devices such as Pixel tablets, Chromebook Plus computers (requires ChromeOS 118 or higher and at least 3GB of RAM), and smartphones including iPhones and Android phones. For mobile devices, it is required to run Android 8.0 and iOS 15 versions or higher.

In other words, Google can bring the above AI photo editing tools to all smartphone users, regardless of operating system, and without having to sign up for Google One. Additionally, Pixel tablets will also be eligible for these features.

In addition, Google Photos users on Android and iOS will also be able to use Magic Editor for free - a synthetic AI tool that can perform more complex image editing and support up to 10 times per month. For comparison, if a user currently wants to get 10 free Magic Editor features each month, they need to have a Pixel phone and subscribe to a 2 TB Google One plan.

Features like audio removal, best photo selection, and video enhancements are still exclusive to the Pixel 8 series, and Google hasn't made them available for free yet.
