Google will display tedious search results like this when EU copyright laws take effect

Search results page because it is impossible to display copyrighted content including article titles, content summaries or illustrations so it is almost empty

In the future, new copyright laws will be issued by the European Union. Meanwhile, to be allowed to display information for users of online platforms such as Google and Facebook will have to pay for content providers. In addition, the new copyright law will also help service providers monitor the status of users' copyright infringement on their services.

In theory, this law will not allow platforms to display content from external sources. This will cause a series of problems that can make the user's Internet experience completely changed.

To illustrate the impact of this rule on displaying news search results, Google shared with Search Engine Land the following screenshot:

We can see in the image above, the search results page because it is impossible to display copyrighted content including article titles, content summaries or illustrations so it is almost empty.

Of course, Google will not display useless search results like this, but will sign an agreement with some partners to put copyrighted content on the site.

Users of course are also affected by this because the information they search through Google will be less and less rich. As a result, the traffic to the communication channels is also seriously reduced.

Clearly, EU copyright laws are detrimental to both technology platforms and content providers when the number of access users decreases.

Currently, the application start time of this new copyright law has not yet been announced.
